REO SPEEDWAGON / CHICAGO - BUDWEISER STAGE TORONTO

MY FIRST TIME SEEING REO SPEEDWAGON LIVE. THEY WERE FANTASTIC. THEY WERE FULL OF ENERGY AND TOTALLY ENGAGED THE CROWD FROM THE BEGINNING. WE HAD GREAT SEATS AND THOUGHT THAT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE AN EQUALLY GOOD TIME WHEN CHICAGO CAME ON, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. THEY STARTED OUT PLAYING A WHOLE NEW ALBUM THAT NOBODY KNEW AND EVERYONE JUST SAT THERE WONDERING WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON. WE LEFT AFTER ABOUT THE FIRST SIX SONGS THEY PLAYED AS IT SEEMED LIKE THEY WERE JUST HAVING ONE BIG JAM SESSION AND FORGOT THAT THEY ACTUALLY HAD AN AUDIENCE THAT HAD PAID TO HEAR THEM SING ALL THEIR HITS...VERY VERY DISSAPOINTING... THEY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE HINT WHEN THEY SAW SO MANY PEOPLE WALKING OUT..... REO SPEEDWAGON SAVED THE WHOLE EVENING FOR US, THEY WERE BRILLIANT.

REO SPEEDWAGON ROCKED AND CHICAGO DIED

REO SPEEDWAGON HAD EVERYONE UP SINGING AND DANCING, THEY SHOULD HAVE PLAYED LONGER. THEN OUT CAME CHICAGO AND WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT FROM THE FIRST SONG TO WHEN I LEFT ONLY 1 HOUR INTO THEIR SET. I SAT THERE THINKING "WTF". THE AUDIENCE LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE ATTENDING A HUGE FUNERAL. TOO BAD WE CANT GET HALF OUR MONEY BACK.

ALL 3 STARS FOR REO

REO rocked it! I knew almost every song. Great energy! Great vibes! Crowd was amped! Chicago came on. " We are playing our 2nd Record from 1970 ". What? And they did. Over an hour and I knew 3 songs. Lots of protest music. Lots of anti establishment. It was like the 60's except that its freakin' 2018!!!! People sat in their seats. People checked their phones to see what the songs would be because no one knew! People checked how much longer it would go. People checked Facebook. People got up and left. When they finally played a familiar song the people still there responded! Clapping along, singing, dancing. Then it was another obscure rendition. Then it was a drum set ( it was great but I was there for CHICAGO hits!!! ) . Then another hit!! Then another instrumental. We left with 15 minutes left. There are 20 to 30 amazing pieces they could have played. Maybe 5 were performed. What a waste!

REO ROCKED, CHICAGO PUT ME TO SLEEP

I had been going to PNC to see CHiCAGO perform their greatest hits for the past 5 years. Never heard they were doing CHICAGO 2. I was 6 years old when CHI 2 came out so i knew none of the songs. Great musicians but paying for good seats, Section 201 and not knowing the music, words etc literally put me to sleep. I left with my family at 9:30. Sadness and disappointment for my Autistic daughter is what bothered me the most. See kept saying, I don't know these songs, let's leave. Very disappointing. REO, silly hokie love songs but guys pushing 70 still crushing it. Loved them. May have to make sure CHICAGO goes back to the greatest hits next go around before buying any tickets. Love you Chicago, just not last night. THUMBS DOWN

DISAPPOINTED

REO - Loud doesn't equate to good. Chicago. By intermission you already had a good share walk out. With all of your hits, it would have been nice to hear one every three or four songs to keep people interested and able to join in the fun.

REO GREAT, CHICAGO SKIP THE FIRST HOUR

Everybody posting here can't be wrong. Saw the tour last night in Pittsburgh. REO was full of energy and played exactly what I wanted to hear. Chicago, on the other hand, played an hour of unknown drivel before they got to the good stuff. No clue what they were thinking. You could tell the audience was bored. This is not why we're came! Do yourself a favor and after REO set go get a beer and a sandwich. When you hear 25 or 6 to 4, go back in.

TOO MUCH SELF INDULGENCE

Let's be fair to all here. Those of us who actually bought the music in the 70's really come to the show to hear the hits. REO was spot on except for a song which seem to come out of the AC/DC screaming lyrics. (Geez what was that) I saw Chicago with EWF a few years back and the show was GREAT. Both bands in the end were on stage doing each others hits.. Wasn't familiar with most of the Chicago 2 songs except for 2. IF you add up the songs they played it was around 27. Seemed like when it came to the hits it was a bit rushed. I will say the new singer who replaced the other singer who replaced Peter did a great job. If I tried to hit those notes, a hernia would have occurred. Weather held out and all in all a slow dance with the wife during a Chicago song isn't too bad at all.
