When I saw that Ben Folds was joining forces with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, a group we are fortunate to have in Milwaukee, I had to check it out. He blew my expectations out of the water. He is talented enough to have been able to do full orchestration for a number of his hits - Landed, Brick, Capable of Anything, Jesusland and many more - but then he took one of the traditions from his rock shows and composed a song on the spot, giving parts to each section of the orchestra and coming up with lyrics - complete with an audience sing-along - all coming together in about 20 minutes. Incredible. So glad I didn’t miss this show.

One woman near us knew all of the lyrics and shouted (not melodically) throughout the show. Wrecked it for us! Love Ben. I wish that she’d been muzzled for the show. Such a waste. We saw Ben in Lynn, MA and the audience was much more respectful, in Lynn! I look forward to his next concert and pray the blond woman stays home!
